Pink Night Successful Everywhere Except Scoreboard
It was a successful night in Park Arena on many fronts as ACC honored the three sophomores playing their last home games and the Pink Night provided a large, boisterous crowd and nearly $1000 raised for cancer support group Friends Together. However, Delta College (9-14 overall, 4-7 conference) spoiled the festivities by defeating the Lumberjacks, 25-19, 21-25, 25-11, 25-21.
Alivia Freel and Brook Latuszek led the way offensivesly with eight kills each. Freel added two blocks and an ace while Latuszek added 11 digs and an ace.
Paige Moldenhauer had a strong night with 25 digs. Maddi Sladek added 27 assists. Reaghan Fitzpatrick chipped in with six kills and two blocks.
"We battled hard tonight and played some great volleyball on our Sophomore Night and our Pink Game," coach Courtney Holmes said.
ACC was without sophomore Rocky Miller who was injured in practice this week. The other sophomores honored during the pregame ceremony were Latuszek and Alyssa Stevens.
The Lumberjacks (4-13, 2-7) travel this weekend to play Grand Rapids Community College (16-2, 9-0) on Friday, Oct. 24 and Muskegon Community College (20-6, 8-1) on Saturday, Oct. 25.
