Volleyball Splits at Port Huron Event
Lumberjacks Have Won 2 of Last 3
ACC's volleyball team continued their winning ways, splitting in a quad event taking place in Port Huron, losing to Kellogg Community College (13-10) in straight sets, 22-25, 16-25, 15-25 but bouncing back to defeat Glen Oaks Community College (6-16) in four sets, 25-11, 25-18, 18-25, 25-18.
"We will thrilled to pick up our second win of the week!" coach Courtney Holmes said. "We think this is the positive momentum we need to finish out the year as strong as possible."
Raquelle Miller excelled on defense finishing the weekend witha team-high 33 digs. She also added six aces and three blocks.
Alivia Freel was a force at the net with 12 blocks and she contributed 13 kills and two aces. Brooklyn Latuszek led the team in total aces and kills with five and 14 respectively. She also chipped in 17 digs.
Paiglee Moldenhauer contributed four aces and 28 digs. Maddi Sladek dished out 38 assists and added 13 digs, three blocks and three aces.
The Lumberjacks (3-12 overall, 1-6 conference) return to action at home on Wednesday, Oct. 15 hosting Montcalm Community College (5-15, 1-7) at 6:30 pm in a battle for sole possession of sixth place in the league.
