Lumberjacks Get Impressive Road Victory
The ACC women's basketball team picked up a good win on the road last night in Petoskey, defeating North Central Michigan College, 57-41.
It was the Lumberjacks third win over NCMC, each by greater margins - the first two being by two points and five points, respectively.
"I'm proud of our response tonight," coach Brandon Humphrey said. "We played some great team basketball. Our 3rd quarter was also one of our best of the season and helped us in a big way!"
ACC led 31-23 at the half and a huge 21-5 third quarter advantage put the game out of reach.
The Jacks' pressure defense forced 33 Timberwolves turnovers which ACC converted into 31 points.
Emily Jackson, Allie Urlaub and Makayla Kamyszek all reached double figures in scoring.
Jackson had 15 points, eight steals, seven assists and six rebounds.
"Shout out to Emily Jackson who put up a monster stat line tonight!" Humphrey noted. "She's a special player and will only continue getting better as she continues putting in the work."
Urlaub scored 14, including four three-pointers. Kamyszek added 12.
ACC is now 7-16 overall, 5-7 in the MCCAA Northern Conference.
On Saturday, the Lumberjacks host a tough Mid-Michigan College (23-1, 10-1) team that is ranked 20th in the country in NJCAA Division 2. They close out the regular season at Delta College on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
