Softball Loses Two in South Carolina
Alpena Community College continued their spring trip against challenging competition and lost to Surry Community College (N.J.), 4-3 and to Danville Community College (Va.), 13-0.
In the opener, Taylor Krentz pitched a complete game and did not allow an earned run but three errors did the Lumberjacks in, leading to four runs. Trailing 4-0 in the seventh, ACC rallied to score three runs on singles by Shae Lampinen and Femke Van Elsacker, an RBI double by Alaina Saari and an RBI ground out by Elizabeth Romel.
For the game, Lampinen and Van Elsacker each had two hits.
Playing against Danville for the second time in as many days, ACC again came up short against the Jaguars. They had lost 11-1 to Danville on Saturday.
The Lumberjacks had three hits - by Rhea Amrich, Olivia Leland and Lampinen.
ACC (1-4) plays Mercer County Community College (N.J.) and Louisburg College (N.C.) on Monday, Mar. 18.
