Men's Soccer Loses at Lake Michigan
Lake Michigan College defeated ACC in men's soccer, 3-1.
According to head coach Nick Fletcher, "It was 2-0 at halftime, but although they were the better team, they didn't create any real clear-cut chances, and they were 2 really scrappy goals.
We made some tactical changes at halftime, and we were the better team in the 2nd half."
The Lumberjacks were awarded a penalty kick in the second half, but the attempt was blocked by the LMC keeper. Still ACC kept battling and Avery Thurston scored on an assist from Leo Schneider to pull within one goal.
Though the Jacks created chances to equalize, they couldn't get the tying goal and the Red Hawks scored again. The game was called after 75 minutes due to lightning.
"Our guys really fought hard and stuck together in difficult circumstances," Fletcher said.
Jackson Goble had 14 saves in goal for ACC who returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at Grand Rapids Community College.
