Henry Ford Puts On Impressive Display at ACC
Park Arena was the host for one of the state's best JUCO basketball squads and Henry Ford College lived up to the hype, defeating ACC 88-55.
The Hawks, who are now 4-0 on the season, came into the game averaging 110 points a game with an average victory margin of 36 points. The Lumberjacks fell to a 1-5 record on the season, but were the first team to hold Henry Ford under the 100 point mark.
Lumberjack stars Derian Williams and Kavon Patterson, who had been averaging 17.6 and 17.8 points per game respectively, were harassed into a 22% (6 for 27) shooting night by the Hawks' defense. As a team, ACC shot only 25.3% while Henry Ford shot 50% on three-pointers and 56.7% overall, aided by a number of dunks.
Oluwatobi Ogunyode led the Jacks with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Williams and Kobe Johnson each scored 10. Patterson scored eight while Jadin Mix tallied seven. Johnson had six rebounds with Mix grabbing five.
The Lumberjacks return to action after the Thanksgiving break playing at Detroit Community Christian on Saturday, Dec. 6.
