ACC Loses in Home Finale
Mid-Michigan College kept rolling in men's basketball, defeating Alpena Community College, 107-76 at Park Arena.
The Lakers are now 18-7 overall, 10-2 in the MCCAA Northern Conference. The Lumberjacks fell to 8-15, 6-7 with the defeat.
Sophomores Daddy Hill and Ianson Simpson led ACC with 11 points each in their final home. Terrence Burton was also in double figures, scoring 10 points.
Mid led 52-30 at the half.
The Jacks conclude the regular season, playing at Delta College (9-13, 3-9), on Tuesday, Feb. 27. ACC hopes to avenge an earlier 72-65 loss at home to the Pioneers.
The top five teams in the MCCAA North qualify for the NJCAA Region XII tournament and the Lumberjacks currently sit in a tie for fourth place. A victory on Tuesday would clinch a playoff berth for ACC.
