Alpena Community College Esports Earns Dominant Rocket League Win, Falls Short in Rainbow Six Siege Battle

 

The Alpena Community College Esports program showcased both high skillset and resilience in their first regular season matches of the season. The Lumberjacks delivered a commanding performance in Rocket League, sweeping the University of Ottawa (uOttawa) 4–0, while also battling hard in Rainbow Six Siege against Coe College Academy, ultimately falling short in a pair of tightly contested matches.

 

Rocket League: Alpena Sweeps uOttawa 4–0

ACC’s Rocket League squad put on a show, dominating from the opening kickoff of Game 1 to the final seconds of Game 4. Their cohesive passing, efficient rotations, and precision shooting overwhelmed the uOttawa defense throughout the series. ACC defeated uOttawa by the following scores:

G1: 3-1

G2: 4-3

G3: 3-1

G4: 2-1

Team captain Charlie Best and player Isaac Zocco led the charge with consistent offensive pressure, while Maxwell McCarty anchored the backline with strong defensive saves. A highlight goal in Game 3, where Alpena executed a perfect mid-air passing play, brought fans to their feet both online and in the team’s local arena.

The 4–0 sweep marks one of Alpena’s most decisive Rocket League wins of the season and adds momentum as they continue their league play.

Rainbow Six Siege: Coe College Academy Prevails 2–0

In Rainbow Six Siege, Alpena faced the strategic powerhouse Coe College Academy in a best-of-three series. Despite strong coordination and several clutch rounds, the Lumberjacks fell in both maps. The Lumberjacks practiced and implemented new stragies this week and resulted in much more powerful and closer matches. Coe College Academy defeated ACC by the following scores:

G1: 7-4

G2: 7-4

ACC displayed strong defensive strategies, including a near-comeback in the first map where they trailed 5–1 before rallying to close the gap. The lumberjacks went on to win 3-4 games in a row in both matches to bring them back to a competitive match. However, Coe’s experience and late-round executions ultimately proved decisive.
