Baseball Wraps Up Successful Season
In the third year of Lumberjack Baseball, therewere many positive additions and changes that led to a drastic change in the standings for the Lumberjacks than in years before. ACC posted 11 conference wins this season, after winning just four in both 2023 and 2024.
The baseball team also competed in a record number of games, playing 47 games, including two against the #1 team in JUCO baseball, Walters State (TN). Walters State is currently 57-6 and has won their first two games in the JUCO World Series, closing in on possible national championship.
The Jacks also played six other non-conference teams with at least 28 wins – Roane State (TN), Volunteer State (TN), Pellissippi State (TN), Henry Ford Community College and Lansing Community College. LCC finished the season ranked #9 in the country in the NJCAA Division 2 with a 42-11 record and one of their losses was to ACC.
The Jacks had their best season all around and are looking to keep that momentum going into future years. ACC pounded 25 home runs as a team in all games, good for 5th in the 18-team MCCAA. In conference play, the Lumberjacks had 17 roundtrippers, which led the MCCAA North. ACC was second in extra base hits with 59 and a 4.41 ERA in conference play.
All players came ready to play this year and helped the Jacks get to where they are now, but a few stand out from the conference and deserve special recognition. The MCCAA has published this year's baseball awards as follows:

All-Freshman AND All-MCCAA Team:
Everyone on this list greatly influenced and helped with this year's team's successes and memories. However, there were two players who really stood out all season and absolutely dominated. On the pitching side for the Lumberjacks, Max Coughlin always came out competitive and in the zone. Over 33.2 Innings pitched in conference play, Max posted a 1.60 ERA and 33 strikeouts!
On the offensive side, Jake Zann had an unbelievable year in all categories, leading the MCCAA Northern Conference with nine home runs and an .882 slugging percentage in conference play. His 28 RBI and .505 on base percentage were second in the league. Jake provided his team with many clutch hits and moments to help the Jacks win throughout the season. Congratulations to all the student athletes on their accomplishments!
