ACC Loses Two to Pellissippi State
ACC continued their spring tour of Tennessee with a doubleheader loss at the hands of Pellissippi State, 6-1 and 8-5.
In the opener, each team had six hits and played errorfree baseball, however, Lumberjack pitchers walked seven and hit one to give the Panthers the win.
For ACC, Nate Koster singled and doubled. Evan Fairbanks tripled. Charlie Best struck out three in three innings of relief.
After a five-run first inning for Pellissippi, the Jacks settled down and got to within one, at 6-5 in the top of the 5th but couldn't get over the hump.
Koster again had two hits, both doubles and scored a run. Marcus Castellon had two hits, including a two-run double and threw out two runners attempting to steal.
Brendan DiBartolomeo threw 2.1 innings of relief, giving up one run and struck out one. Zachary Holifield struck out two in two innings. Zach Fletcher threw a perfect inning of relief with two strikeouts.
ACC (0-6) plays at Walters State Community College (18-4-1) and ranked 7th in the country in NJCAA Division 1.
