#13 Ranked Lansing Sweeps ACC
Continuing to play one of the toughest schedules in the MCCAA, ACC hosted Lansing Community College and dropped two tough games, losing 15-3 and 9-4.
In the opener, the Stars jumped out early scoring seven runs in the first, then added three in the third and five in the fourth en route to the mercy rule five inning win.
Max McCarty was 2 for 2 for the Lumberjacks who were limited to four hits. Kaden Benaske blasted a two-run home run, his fifth of the season.
ACC scored two in the first and one in the second, and led 2-0 after one and 3-1 after two innings. Lansing scored two in the top of the third to tie the game and then scored four in the fourth and two in the fifth to pull away.
Nate Koster was 3 for 4 to lead the Jacks' hitters. Brendan DiBartolomeo also had two hits. Both contributed RBIs.
Caleb McEwen started and threw three innings, giving up only three baserunners (two hits and one walk) and two earned runs, striking out two. Ethan Bergstein and Charlie Best each threw shutout innings.
ACC (15-30) plays Lansing CC (34-10) again on Friday in another doubleheader, this one in Municipal Park in Lansing.
